Welcome to Ms. Poff's
second grade!
We are going to have an
exciting year of learning! We have a new reading book filled
with exciting stories, fiction and non-fiction, poetry, and plays.
Our class will be the first to use these books, so they will have
many new stories to share at the dinner table with their siblings
who were previously in my class. We will be writing poems,
narratives, and letters. Mathematics is filled with many hands-on
activities covering such topics as: computational skills, telling
time, money, temperature, measurement, geometric shapes, patterns,
problem solving, graphing, and much more! Our second grade science
opens the door to balance and motion, pebbles and sand, and
insects, to include BUTTERFLIES! WOW! So you don't want to
miss a day of school!
I can't wait to see each of you
every morning! So come prepared with a good breakfast, sharpened
pencils, pencil sharpener, scissors, and a smile on your face!
