2nd Semester begins Tuesday,
January 29 - a time for reflection and renewal! We'll spend
some time reflecting on what went "right" first semester and what
areas might need strengthening. It's also a good time to make
sure school supplies are replenished. I look forward to
continued success with your students!
A reminder - I'm after school for extra help most days until atleast 3, but specifically Tuesdays and Thursdays. If your child needs extra time or support have them join me on those days. Beyond High School . . . Something to think about Welcome to Stadium and Algebra
1/Geometry 1. This year will be filled with alot of "new" and
will be both challenging and rewarding. It's always
empowering to succeed at something you've never tried before.
I look forward to sharing this year's experiences with you.
Last year, my young sons attended high school graduation with me and were curious as to why some students were getting paid to graduate - I explained to them how scholarships to colleges and other learning institutions work. They asked me if they would get paid when they graduated and I told them that would depend on their choices. I want you (students) to start thinking about how much you want to get paid when you graduate. How much will your extended education cost and what steps do you need to start taking now. Over the summer I found 2 websites I'd like to share to get you "thinking": www.collegeboard.com http://believeyoucanfly.org http://www.fastweb.com/fastweb/resources/articles/index/100002 I hope you start making your education a priority for it will truly be a major source of the opportunities that shape your life. As William Butler Yeats is quoted- “Education is not filling a bucket but lighting a fire.” Here's to a great school year! |
